Lloydminster is purchasing 470 water meters to continue upgrading water services for residents.
The purchase comes after Neptune Technology installed a new Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system and found that some of the older water meters were not compatible. The older meters were purchased from a different company and began being replaced in 2017 when the AMI system was installed.
As part of the City’s Meter Replacement Program, the new meters will be completely compatible with the system and will have a 25-year lifespan. The meters will cost the City $61,100.00.
