SHA confirms COVID-19 case at Bishop Lloyd School, some classes to go online Wednesday

The Lloydminster Public School Division says a COVID-19 case has been confirmed at Bishop Lloyd Middle School.

They say they were notified by the Saskatchewan Health Authority that they’ve identified a positive case in an individual in the 7-5, 7-6 cohort at the middle school. Communication has been shared with the specific classroom and cohort, as well as the school community, the LPSD says.

Currently, the SHA is doing contact tracing, and the school division explains that as this process will not be completed tonight on November 3rd, all students in grade 7-5 and 7-6 will remain at home on November 4th. The LPSD says further direction to families will be provided when Public Health has completed its assessment.

To protect privacy, they will not be sharing or discussing details on the case. The LPSD says they will be working with Bishop Lloyd Middle School Adminstration, Public Health and the Saskatchewan Health Authority to communicate additional information when it’s available.

In the meantime, the LPSD asks people to continue health habits like staying home if sick, monitoring health daily, proper handwashing and wearing a mask when physical distancing proves difficult. If people develop COVID-19 symptoms, they can contact their health practitioner or Healthline 811 for testing or next steps.
