Two more positive COVID-19 cases found at E.S. Laird Middle School

Two positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at E.S. Laird Middle School.

In a release, LPSD says they were notified by the Saskatchewan Health Authority of two cases in individuals in grades 7 and 8 on November 8th. Classes at the school were moved to online learning on November 2nd and students are expected to return to in-person classes on November 17th.

“Working together as a community, with everyone doing their part to self-monitor, stay home if
ill and following the precautionary safety measures, is essential in helping decrease the risk of
COVID-19 in our schools and community,” LPSD Director of Education Todd Robinson says.

An outbreak was declared at the school on October 28th. The SHA declares outbreaks when two or more people test positive for COVID-19 in a non-household setting. It is not necessarily an indicator of risk to the public, says the SHA.
