Lloydminster Motor Club auction to benefit The Goat’s Christmas Wish

The Lloydminster Motor Club is doing one final online auction of the year.

The auction launched at noon on Wednesday, and this auction’s proceeds will be split among two causes, one of which is the Goat’s Christmas Wish and the other to honour a fallen member of the LMC. The “Head Honcho” of the LMC Randy Marsh says they do an auction for the Wish because of the impact it has on the community.

“To see something like the Goat’s Christmas Wish, it’s something that we all can get behind and help support. It helps us because we feel like we can be a real crucial part to the community and the results we see from it.”

Marsh says the second cause is also something very near and dear to their hearts: The Dirty Mary build. It was started in memory of Ian Tiede, who passed away earlier this month. His goal before his death was to rebuild a Camero, a project the club wants to continue in his memory.

“[He was] just a one of kind guy and unfortunately gone way too soon. His main goal for this Camero was he wanted to have it done for grad, so that’s what we’ve kind of done; we’ve taken it over and come January we’re going to help get this thing restored to its former glory.”

So far the auction has seen many donors in the community, which Marsh says has made the total donations in the package to be worth about $1,100. He says this could grow as donors can continue to give through the auction by contacting the Lloydminster Motor Club on Facebook.

Bidding will take place on the actual Facebook post and will be open until 6 p.m. on December 23rd.
