The Lloydminster Stockade will be the site of the inaugural Lloydminster Rescue Squad Gala on Saturday, October 17.
The evening will featureĀ a dinner, both live and silent auctions, and a dance in an effort toĀ raise moneyĀ for the squad. Norm Namur, chief of the squad, says the theme combines the squad’s function with fashion.
“The theme is Sirens & Sapphires,” Namur said. “Sirens [are] what we do when we go to a call or to an event, we have our sirens on, and sapphires we just wanted to have something classy, so that there would be something that ladies can relate to. We do have a necklace, a bracelet, and earrings [with]Ā sapphires from Richardson’s Jewellery.”
Namur says he hopes to raise $25,000-$50,000 for new equipment and training for the squad.
Doors open at 4, and dinner will be served at 6.
