Saskatchewan RCMP have issued an emergency alert about someone armed with a knife whom they say is traveling in a 2008 white Chevy Avalanche with SK licence: 953 LPL.
Police say the vehicle was reported stolen from Wakaw about 2:10 p.m. and was last seen heading to Wakaw along Cemetery Road. Its travel direction is unknown and police add they are unaware of the number of people involved. Wakaw is about 90 km north east of Saskatoon.
Investigators believe this may be related to the Melfort dangerous person alert issued on Sunday Sept. 4.
If in the Wakaw area, police advise to seek immediate shelter or shelter in place. Also, use caution of allowing anyone into your home and not to leave a secure location. As well, do not approach suspicious persons or pick up hitchhikers. In an emergency, officials say to call 911.
