Drugs confiscated in traffic stop

Two men are facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop earlier this week.

On August 21, 2016, a member of the Wilkie RCMP stopped a vehicle heading eastbound for speeding on Highway 14, east of Unity, Saskatchewan.

The driver of the vehicle was found to be operating the vehicle while impaired and was place under arrest, at which time the driver also admitted to having marijuana in the vehicle, and both he and the passenger were subsequently arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

Police searched the vehicle and a quantity of cannabis marijuana was seized, but several oxycodone tablets were also found and taken in as evidence.
